Massage Therapy Versus Homeopathy

We had orientation today in massage therapy. Two healing modalities and two different realities altogether.  I was there today listening to all the opportunities and guaranteed jobs that we were sure to get once we graduated.

The way it is right now, the majority of humanity don't know what homeopathy is, and it's not regulated, and it's very esoteric, and many people, aren't taking it seriously. People have to pay out of their own pockets on a modality they know nothing about, and don't understand, and it's not an easy sell. One of my homeopathic colleagues is going to naturopathic college and several others are studying to be MD's.

Massage therapy is really integrated into many aspects of society, from hospitals to sports teams, to clinics, to spas, to retreat centers, to self employment.  The opportunties are ridiculous. You can pick and choose your abundance. In homeopathy, it's more like having to justify your existence.

The solution for homeopathy is regulation and education. My school the ochm knows this, and I commend them. The ochm is at the fore front of the regulation process. When the government sees it as a respectable profession then humanity will naturally follow suit. Then Bryce Wylde (a tv talk show host) is doing his best to educate the public. So there are some real heros out there that are advocating for our profession and never giving up, never letting in.

At the end of the day, I need to pay my bills and have the life I want, so I am more than excited to be in massage therapy school and meet society where they are at. Society at this point may not be ready for those deep fundamental changes that homeopathy produces, but are open to massage as a  preliminary step to natural wellness. Massage can be very soothing, healing and transformational.  Touch is a powerful force to be reckoned with. If this is what the majority of human beings can handle at this time, then so be it.

A side note: One of the main causes of suffering on this planet, is the feeling of being separate, alone, tossed aside, ignored, and dissconnected from others, from nature, and from life. Massage therapy reconnects human beings to each other again, literally. A patient can re-connect with their fellow man again and feel loved, nurtured, appreciated, and soothed. This reminds us of the ultimate lesson in life. The lesson being that happiness comes when we connect with our brothers and sisters, help them, love them, and develop meaningful bonds and communities. Suffering comes from the neglect and uncaringness of our fellow man.
