How Grounded Are You?

Being grounded is the ability to stay in your body and live in the moment.  Being grounded allows us to engage with life. We are ungrounded when we try to escape from life and seperate ourselves from our own experience. What drives ungroundedness is emotional pain and suffering, if we suffer we disconnect from life and live in a sort of warp/reverie/daydreaming state. The goal is to enrich our experiences and get the most from each moment.

So answer the following questions and ......BE HONEST.

1.)
When you first meet someone how often do you remember their name?
  • 2 times out of 10!   I'm awesome!
  • Only if their cute
  • Rarely, I'm better with faces
  • Seriously...never
2.) How long can you sit still without jumping to occupy your mind or time?
  • I am talking on twitter and instant messaging on facebook as I am reading this
  • When I am asleep
  • I can meditate for seconds like a zen monk.....no problem
  • I have never tried
3.) How often do you daydream?
  • All the time, life is soooooo boring
  • When my partner talks too much
  • When there's nothing on T.V
  • When intimacy ain't cracked up like it used to be
  • Where have the last ten years of my life gone?
4.) When someone is talking how much do you listen?
  • blah blah blah blah blah
  • listen to who?
  • zzzzz zzzzzz zzzzzz
  • Am I still alive?

5.) How much do you notice in your surroundings?

  • If I caught Mr.Green in the library with the candlestick I still wouldn't have a clue
  • Only what's right in front of me
  • I am in a reverie most of the time
  • What city is this anyway?

6.) How many of these activites do you engage in daily?

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • Internet games, play station, xbox, etc
  • Phone gossiping
  • Internet surfing

IF you have chosen ANY of the above answers then....... call me fast!
