Homeopathy: How Long Does It Take To Cure Disease?

Doctor; I have "XYZ" disease and can you please tell me how long it will take to cure my condition? The answer in homeopathy is always "it depends".  There are many facets that affect the rate of cure, that is what this post addresses. Many people tend to put off seeking help when their symptoms are mild and at a managable level, and usually only go and seek a therapist as a last ditch effort or when the disease symptoms have progressed to an advanced level. When this phase is reached healing takes a tremendous effort. This isn't right or wrong on the patients part, but rather human nature. There are other factors that affect speed of cure, they are:

1.)
age of the patient, the older the patient is, the weaker the immune system may be, and longer it may take to heal.
2.) how long the patient has had the disease. the longer the patient has had it, the longer it takes to heal.
3.) the patients own outlook on life, is it positive or negative? negative thoughts hinder healing and positive thoughts speed healing
4.) how long the patient has been on suppressive drugs for the condition? The more the disease has been suppressed by drugs the longer it may take to heal.
5.) patients lifestlye choices, are they active or sedentary, do they eat right and exercise daily, do they smoke or take drugs?
6.) patients willingness to help themselves and follow the practitioners advice, in my experience, many patients will not follow all the steps I outline for them, this is ok, they still get better, but it does affect the speed of cure.

In homeopathy, the rule of thumb is for ever year the person has had the chronic condition, it takes one month of homeopathic treatment to cure it.  So if someone has had diabetes for twelve years it will take twelve months for it to heal.

What patients really want to know is how long it will take to feel better, this is more important to them than the cure, but the assumption is they will only be pain free once the condition is completely cured.  This isn't true, the truth is this, patients can expect to feel better quickly, but complete cure takes time. So put another way: patients will feel better sooner rather than later, and expect complete cure later rather than sooner. In my experience patients need to be prepared to spend at least six months with a health professional for a serious condition, and be realistic that healing takes time.
