How Homeopathy Can Heal Eczema

Did you know that healing eczema, and  psoriasis,  is one of the most difficult conditions to treat in homeopathy? It sounds simple, patient has a rash, give a remedy, and the rash goes away. No, infact it is really a challenge...heres why. Most people that suffer from eczema have outbursts of red, blistering, burning, intensely itching skin, not to mention it looks terrible. The symptoms can be so uncomfortable and so intense that the only thing on their mind is relief.

The main choice for most people is a drug called cortisone, a
suppressive drug that is placed in creams that patients can apply topically to provide instant relief.  The rash goes away. It goes away because the condition is being suppressed, because cortisone pushes the illness deeper into the body toward the vital organs to deal with. The energy of the illness moves inward and the rash disappears from the outward (skin). The chances of a more serious disease can develop later on, such as asthma, (affecting the lungs, vital organ).

Healing can only occur from the inside out, so in order to cure the eczema the condition must move its way fully out of the body, and often this means a temporary worsening of symptoms. Yes a worsening of the itch, the burning pain, the redness, and unslightly appearance. During this phase many patients look to soften the symptoms by any means possible, and run back to cortisone, or herbal remedies which also suppress the symptoms (but not as badly as cortisone).

When the eczema gets resuppressed, then healing is not possible and becomes delayed.  Homeopathy by design is meant to do the opposite, push things out of the body where real cure is possible. So it is like walking a tight rope with patients. Some of the best homeopaths in the world  have patients leaving their clinic due to the fact that they want cure right away. This is not realistic, or how true healing occurs. If the homeopath picks the perfect remedy off the bat, then it takes time for the condition to clear and the more suppressed from cortisone it has been through, the longer it takes to heal.

So the balancing act requires that when the homeopathic remedy makes the eczema symptoms worse, by its healing power, the patient has to dowse the flames without re suppressing the condition. And they have to be willing to do this for a period of time as the healing progresses, and not give up prematurely. People are accustomed to being relieved right away and are not aware it takes time, and that cortisone is not really working for their best health interests in the long run.

There also needs to be emphasis on educating the public about how healing really occurs, and that the patient must also take a proactive approach to their own health.

Many in our society want instant gratification, but believe it or not, taking it slow leads to much learning , self growth, and valuble insights along the way. They get to learn about how all of the choices they have made through life have brought them to where they are now, and why things have gotten to be so painful. With instant gratification, we feel better, but do not learn a darn thing, and painful habits and unwise decisions continue to be repeated.
