Natural Diet For Pets

Some of us have significant others in our lives. What about a significant cat? A significant dog? Do you have pets? Do you want to know how to turn your house hold kitty into godly, cuddly, no person can refuse kitty?  A cat that is slender, disease free, has soft velvety fur, gas free, fur ball free, and does not resemble Garfield in anyway? Then read on.

I have seen all kinds of  animals with certain disease conditions, I have seen animals with cancer, epilepsy, hip displacement, cataracts, and arthritis. Animals are similar to people, a lot of their problems and disease conditions can be rectified by changing their diet into a natural diet. Not a processed kitty canned diet, that we buy from a local supermarket.  The typical canned food on the shelf for animals is comparable to the typical food in a can for us.

Its processed, contains little nutrient value, the meat is composed of mostly by products which can be anything really, left over body parts from other animals, basically anything unfit for human consumption can be given to animals in a can.  It also has been sitting on the shelf for god knows how long, and god knows how much longer, because it contains preservatives, and many unknown substances you can't pronounce and dare not know. The first thing many practitioners do for people who are rife with illness is to change their diet to a more vital natural diet, the samething applies to animals. Infact I recommend before you spend thousands of dollars on vet bills to consider changing your pets diet first. A great many illnesses can be healed this way.  This is the first order of business.

Many people are also adopting pets and would like to know how to best nourish and  feed their beloved pets correctly from the beginning. The natural diet for animals is composed of mostly grains and vegetables and real meat. The grains are oatmeal, barely millet, brown rice, and lentils. The vegetables can be anything really such as broccoli, squash, carrots, zucchini, cauliflower etc.
Ground beef, chicken are good sources of protein. These diets are usually home cooked.  One can also add supplemental foods to these meals such as kelp, bonemeal, olive oil, vitamin E, as recommended by Dr. Pitcairn, an authority on diets for pets.

Some great resources and books to read for your pets are:

- Dr. Pitcairns Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats, Rodale Press 1995,
- Anitra Frazier's The New Natural Cat, Plume Books, 1995.
- The Healthy Dog and Cat Cookbook, Joan Harper, Pet Press 1988.
- The Complete Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Cat, Juliette de Bairacli Levy
- Natural Healing for Dogs and Cats, Diane Stein, The Crossing Press, 1993.

This information was obtained from a really great website by Petsynergy.  I recommend visiting that site.

If you are seeking an alternative doctor for your pets, I highly recommend checking out Dr.Cindy Kneebone  from the East York Animal Clinic In Toronto. An acquaintance of mine went to see her for his dog with leukemia, and she asked the owner to first change the diet, then gave the dog some homeopathic remedies and the dog went into remission. The dog lived to be fifteen.
